As Violent Crime Rises, Stiff Prosecutions Await Offenders

As violent criminals seek to harm the public, DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin recently announced major criminal prosecutions related to an attempted armed vehicular hijacking and an armed robbery. Also, prison sentences were recently handed out regarding an aggravated vehicular hijacking from 2017, where the offenders were armed with a handgun.

Armed Robbers Charged With Multiple Felonies; Denied Bond.

Two men who robbed the Verizon Wireless store in Lisle with a firearm were charged with multiple felonies and denied bond in DuPage County court. “It is alleged that these two men armed themselves, disguised their identity and threatened at gunpoint a store employee just trying to make an honest living,” DuPage County State's Attorney Bob Berlin said.

Justice for Andrea Urban; Killer Found Guilty on All Counts

On January 24, 2020 a DuPage County jury found Dominic Sanders, formerly of University Park, guilty of murder in regards to the killing of Andrea Urban of Hinsdale. The jury deliberated for approximately three hours, bringing the case nearer to closure. Urban was murdered while Sanders was breaking into her home sometime during the morning hours of May 4, 2017.
