DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced today that a Lombard man has entered a plea of guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Commit Terrorism (Class 1 Felony). Christian Frazee, 27 (d.o.b. 4/6/1995) formerly of the 900 block of S. Lombard Avenue, appeared in Court this morning in front of Judge Michael Reidy, who accepted Frazee’s guilty plea and sentenced him to ten years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). Additionally, Frazee also entered a guilty plea to one count of Possession of Child Pornography (Class 2 Felony) for which he was sentenced to an additional three years in the IDOC to be served concurrently. On June 1, 2020, Frazee appeared in Bond Court on Attempt Terrorism charges and his bond was at $1 million with 10% to apply. On June 30, 2020, he posted bond and was released. On December 24, 2020, Frazee again appeared in Bond Court on the Child Pornography charges where bond was set at $250,000 with 10% to apply in accordance with a previously issued arrest warrant. He has remained in custody at the DuPage County Jail since that time.

Berlin and West Chicago Chief of Police Colin Fleury announced today that a seventeen-year-old male West Chicago Community High School student has been charged with allegedly bringing a gun to school. The juvenile appeared at a detention hearing this morning where Judge Anthony Coco ordered that the juvenile be detained until at least his next court appearance. The juvenile has been charged with one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Possess in a School (Class 3 Felony), one count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Class 4 Felony) and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Class 4 Felony). DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced today that Launden Luckett, 34 (d.o.b. 11/30/1987), formerly of Chicago, has been sentenced to two terms of natural life in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) without the possibility of parole for the stabbing death of his girlfriend in 2015. Luckett was also sentenced to an additional consecutive twenty-five years in the IDOC for armed robbery. Luckett appeared at his sentencing hearing this morning in front of Judge Jeffrey MacKay who handed down the sentence. Judge MacKay’s earlier finding that the murder was accompanied by exceptionally brutal or heinous behavior indicative of wanton cruelty exposed Luckett to a sentence of natural life in prison. On November 22, 2021, after approximately two hours of deliberations following a five-day-long trial, a jury found Luckett guilty of First-Degree Murder.
